The Kindness Animal Hospital Receptionists


Cheri Bermudez

Cheri attends the University of Maryland where she is pursuing a degree in Animal Science, and hopes to continue on to veterinary school after that. Cheri has worked at Kindness since 2005; her favorite part is interacting with the animals. She also likes to volunteer at Second Chance Wildlife Rescue during her free time. Over the years, Cheri has had a plethora of pets including four birds, one rat, five dogs, four cats, and a number of goldfish. Currently, she lives with her parents, two Jack Russell Terriers (Rocky and Spike), and two cats (Morris and Tuck).

Kynee Brown

Kynee has worked in the medical field for seven years, but is a newcomer to the veterinary profession. The opportunity to work with animals as well as their humans has been a welcome change for her, and she has come to regard the Kindness staff as one big family!

Sandy Chea

Sandy has been a member of the Kindness team since 2006. She worked at Lake Forest Animal Hospital for two years before coming here. She is the proud parent of a 2 year old domestic shorthair cat named Tora, who she rescued at the age of 8 weeks. Sandy is currently taking classes in Business Management and hopes to own a small business of her own someday.

Nicole Dunlap

Nicole began work at Kindness in 2006, but has many other interests: She is is the process of pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Fire Science from the University of Maryland, and an Associates of Science degree in Paramedic Medicine. She volunteers as an EMT at the College Park Volunteer Fire Department and has our pets (felines Moo and Mack, Siberian Husky Tasha, and ferret Louie). Nicole hopes to pursue a career as a Paramedic, and possibly also gain certification as a Veterinary Technician.

Kristen Gustavson

Kristen has been working at Kindness since 2007. She graduated from the University of Maryland that year with a double major in Government and Politics, as well as Criminology and Criminal Justice. She plans to attend Llaw school. She has two Labrador retriever, a twelve-year old black lab named Morgan, and a one-year-old chocolate lab named Bailey.

Olivia Lawrence

Olivia has been working for Kindness Animal Hospital since 1998. She started as a technician when she was still in high school and is now a receptionist. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Community Health in December of 2005. She is currently pursuing her BSN at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She plans to graduate in May 2008. She loves to cuddle up with her 2 dogs, Giles and Scarlet, and her cat, Jack.

Lisa Proctor

Lisa has worked at Kindness since August 2000 as a part-time receptionist. She feels that her work with animals is fun and very challenging. She has always loved animals and began work at the hospital in order to learn more about preserving her own pets' health. Lisa is married with two teenage sons, three large dogs (mastiffs), and a cat. Her pets have been through numerous veterinary tribulations, including orthopedic problems, autoimmune diseases, and behavioral issues.

Natalie Sweeney

Natalie has worked at Kindness Animal Hospital since 2004. She has over 6 years of veterinary technician experience in private practice. She also has worked at a local Humane Society spay/neuter clinic, where she gained many hours of experience in surgery and anesthesia monitoring. In August 1999, she married her husband; they reside locally with their three dogs (Lizzie, Kramer, and Nicole) and two cats (Fiona and Smokey). In her spare time, Natalie enjoys showing Pugs, and has 20 years of experience breeding them. She is also very active in pug rescue. She also enjoys spending time with her nephew and two nieces who reside locally.
