As a child, Daphne wanted to be either a princess or a veterinarian when she grew up. Once her mom told her that princesses can't jump on couches, she decided to focus all her energy on becoming a veterinarian. Daphne grew up near Philadelphia, received her undergraduate degree from Smith College in 1998, and received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. She worked at a small animal hospital in New Hampshire for one year before joining Kindness in the spring of 2005. She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She has interests in internal medicine, preventive healthcare, and the human-animal bond. Daphne lives in Northwest DC with her two dogs, Stanford (aka The Beagle) and Rose. She also enjoys volunteering, reading, learning Spanish, spending time with friends, and meeting new people. |
